Underfoot choices — the thing you will literally feel every day. Prep badly and you will hear about it every time someone walks across the room. Flatness, moisture, and the wet-area membrane come before the pretty finish. Acclimatise timber. Leave the expansion gap. Waterproofing wants a certificate, not a vibe. Choose the floor for the worst day in that room, not the photoshoot.
